The A487 will be closed between the Parrog Road and Market Street for 4 Sundays this year and 24hrs, 7 days a week from the 6th January till early March next year. This is to replace the collapsed culvert under the road by the Royal Oak. The culvert replacement work requires some initial enabling works to divert some of the existing telecommunications equipment. This will be carried out by Openreach commencing on 20th October.
Lorries: Eastbound vehicles will be diverted via the westbound A487 to Fishguard, southbound A40 to Haverfordwest, eastbound A40 to Penblewin Roundabout and the northbound A478 to Cardigan to re-join the A487: vice versa for westbound vehicles.
A local diversion route for cars and small vans (less than 3.5T) will be via the Upper W St / Upper Bridge St. This is a single track road unsuitable for large vehicles, and vehicles over 3.5T. Traffic flow along this road will be managed with the use of two-way traffic lights.
